We take pride in balancing our skills as quality-focused artsians with our ability to manage and grow a healthy business. At Mayorga, quality is a given. We work hard to source great coffees, apply ideal roasting techniques, and constantly check quality through our internal lab as well as external labs. We don’t brag about the high quality of our coffee, make lofty marketing claims, or overprice our coffees to create a perceived premium. We let the quality shine through in every cup and allow the marketplace to decide. So far, so good!
As we focus on quality, we also focus on food stafety and high standards for production and our general business operations. For this reason, we began the process last Spring to become GFSI certified–in addition to our FDA, state, and county inspections. After an intense three day on-site inspection by NSF Cook & Thurber, we were awarded a GFSI certification last December. Those in the food business recognize GFSI as the benchmark for the highest possible standards in food safety, food manufacturing, traceability, and overall “best practices”. Our GFSI certification is an example of our constant pursuit of excellence. We are proud of it and while we usually take a “humble” approach to our marketing, I feel that this is something worth bragging about.
