Coffee trees were introduced to Guatemala in the 1700s by Jesuit priests but the industry didn’t take hold until further developed by German settlers in the late 19th century. This coffee comes from small producers of Mayan decent in the highlands of Chimaltenango.

Oaxaca is one of Mexico’s prime regions for growing shade coffee. More than three-quarters of Mexico’s coffee is grown on small plots shaded by the existing forest. We have roasted this mellow coffee to bring out the hints of nuttiness.
